Intern Job Description

Pastime with Purpose (PWP) is a 501(c)3 organization that enlists the support of community activated pro athletes to raise awareness and deliver impact to underserved groups of people in the US and abroad. 

Position: Video Production Intern

Description: PWP seeks a creative and confident video wiz to assist with creating media we can use to reach sponsors, educate the public on who we are and what we do, and encourage our athletes. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of video production while working for a fast-growing and highly public nonprofit organization based in sports and entertainment that serves not only on a national level, but international as well. Through this internship, you will gain real-world experience in creating powerful and applicable content and working in direct contact with upper management. Additionally, you will build a healthy portfolio filled with high-profile athletes and meaningful community service.

Responsibilities:

  • Create various videos for different athletes in our organization and for different nonprofit events

  • Being available for one meeting/month to build media strategy and connect with supervisor

  • Communicate with Social Media Intern on current and future strategies when needed

  • Collaborating with supervisor and Social Media Intern on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications

  • Preferably be able to assist in content creation via Adobe software or other professional software of choice

Qualifications:

  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in video production and editing
  • Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field

  • Ability to act professionally with high-profile public figures 

  • Ability to create genuine and enthusiastic content that will inspire those we reach out to to support our cause and understand who we are as a nonprofit

  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe or other preferred video editing software

  • An effective communicator

  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Enthusiasm for nonprofit work, video production, and preferably baseball or sports in general

  • Start Date: Position open until filled, requires 3 – 6 month commitment.

  • Hours: 8 hours/week (depending on workload but never over 10 hours) with one meeting/month to build strategy

  • Compensation: This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship
